Lucan sits one point up on the Exeter Hawks with 29 points and one back of conference leading Thamesford. Delhi continues to lead overall with 35 points. Against the Stars Wednesday night, Lucan got all the offence it would need in the first period with a goal from Tyler French before Charlie Moir made it a 2-0 lead midway through the sec- ond. Lucan goalie Corey Hackney kept the visitors off the scoresheet with a stop off a breakaway in the dying seconds of the second period. Hackney stopped all 24 shots he faced for the shutout. Lucan finally put the game away late in the third period with a power play marker in the final minute for the 3-0 win. Getting assists in the win were Bob Martin with a pair and singles from Dan Crowley, Mark Read, Steve Wells and French. Lucan has three games this week with Belmont in town tonight (Wednesday) at 7:45 p.m. before Lucan visits Thamesford Friday night at 8:30 p.m. The Irish will back in action Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Mt. Brydges. Notes...Mark Read is tied for first in assists with 19...Bob Marin is tied for first in game winning goals with 4...Trevor Medeiros is tied for second in rookie scoring with 27 points...Jamie Jongsma is second in defence scoring with 18...Joe Dobbie is tied for second in wins with eight and for second in g.a.a with a 2.55 average. The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the first against SNWSS on two goals from Troy Elder and one from Jordan Darling. South Huron extend- ed its lead to 4-0 early in the second with another goal from Darling before Stratford managed to get on the board before the period was over. Stratford cut the lead to 4-2 early in the third period but it was all they would get. Scott Muirhead sealed the win with the Panthers' fifth goal late in the period. Getting assists in the win were Jordan Skinner with two and singles from James Marsden, Brandon Baird, Muirhead, Elder and Andy Sedlak. Against Listowel, the Panthers ended the first period with a 3-1 lead on goals from Darling, Muirhead, and Mark Dietrich. But Listowel replied with four goals in the second with a lone reply from South Huron off the stick of Darling and it was all South Huron could get for a 5-4 loss. Picking up assists in the loss were Muirhead, Darling, Skinner, Greg Thompson and Elder. The Panthers were in action Dec. 6 in a mini - tournament at St. Mikes. Goals: Michele Weber, Jess Bickell. Assists: Bickell, Meaghan Ellison. Coaches com- ments: Most entertaining game to date. Great action at both ends of the ice by both teams. Passing and playmaking were terrific.
