Huron Country Playhouse announces 2005 season
GRAND BEND — The
excitement in the air is
palpable at award-win-
ning Drayton
Entertainment, as Artistic
Director Alex Mustakas
has unveiled a spectacu-
lar 2005 playbill that
promises to continue the
organization's proud tra-
dition of offering the
absolute finest in light-
hearted entertainment to
an ever -widening audi-
ence.
Mustakas will present
15 productions at Drayton
Entertainment's five sum-
mer venues in the 2005
season: the original
Drayton Festival Theatre
in Drayton, Huron
Country Playhouse and
Playhouse II in Grand
Bend, King's Wharf
Theatre in
Penetanguishene, and
Schoolhouse Theatre in
St. Jacobs.
Enthusiastic theatrego-
ers are responding in
droves, as the organiza-
tion sold over 6,000 tick-
ets alone the first day the
2005 season went on sale
exclusively to members.
"I have never seen such
a positive, eager
response," says
Mustakas. "We are over-
whelmed by the support
of our family of members.
They continue to play a
pivotal role in the success
of their theatre."
Members are theatrego-
ers who make an annual
contribution to Drayton
Entertainment in
exchange for several
notable privileges, includ-
ing advance booking
opportunities before tick-
ets go on sale to the pub-
lic next March.
"Many theatregoers fail
to realize that you can
become a member of
Drayton Entertainment at
any time," says Mustakas.
"If you don't want to wait
until March to receive our
2005 brochure, then I
encourage you to call the
Box Office and make a
membership contribution.
This way you can book
the best available seats
now before tickets go on
sale to the public."
The 2005 season at
Huron Country Playhouse
will kick off in grand style
with `Beauty and the
Beast.' A tale as old as
time, this Walt Disney
classic sparkles as a
delightful musical fantasy
that captivates theatrego-
ers of all ages with its
entertaining blend of
romance and magic.
"We are one of the first
companies in Canada
granted the rights to pro-
duce this mega -musical,"
says Mustakas. "It is
incredibly exciting not
only for us, but our the-
atre patrons as well."
With its magical mes-
sage about the redemp-
tive power of love, this
charming story will warm
your heart and affirm
your faith in miracles.
`Beauty and the Beast'
runs May 30 to July 2.
Following the positive
response to its student
matinee program,
Drayton Entertainment
will offer special perfor-
mances of `Beauty and
the Beast' exclusively to
school groups in spring
2005. The program is
designed to complement
the drama and music
requirements of the
school curriculum. Details
are available by contact-
ing the Box Office.

winning comedy about
the family ties that bind
— and sometimes choke.

family that is hopelessly
lost as they struggle to
live, learn, and ultimately
love. In doing so, they
become a family that is
finally found. This charm-
ing, bittersweet comedy
