Instruction was provided by the Mariposa -of -the -Schools Arts Program. Caller Judy Greenhill led the students through various cultural dances such as "La Bastringue," "Galopede," "Mariposa," and "Take a Little Peek." Marilyn Carter was in charge of the First Sunday Advent THAMES ROA church service. A new introit was sung and people shook hands. Rev. Carter gave greetings and the announcements and led in the call to worship, prayer of approach and the affir- mation of faith in unison. Alana Hodgert lit the purple candle in the Advent wreath. Zachary Kadey and Quinn Rush carried the empty stable in and put it on a platform. The choir sang Joy is Like A Flower accompa- nied by pianist Marilyn Vandenbussche. Rick Parker and Erin Parsons received the offer- ing and Parker was the greeter. Everyone read the commissioning and Rev. Carter pronounced the benediction. Everyone sang May the God of Hope Go With Us. Property stolen BLUEWATER — On Nov. 20 a break-in was reported to a cottage on Elizabeth Street in the Highland Subdivision. Police say someone forced open the cottage and stole more than $1,500 worth of property. A Flintlock muzzle load- ing rifle single shot and a Springfield civil war rifle were among the stolen items. Also stolen were two Justin speakers, stuffed animals, orna- ments, an antique pearl - handled knife, office equipment, a Midland two way radio/ham set, a Panasonic cordless phone, a Video Cassette Recorder, several CDs, two sets of binoculars, 45 antique stereo scope viewing cards, a brass telescope and four fishing rods and reels. Robyn Etherington, Oshawa spent the week- end with her parents, Rick and Karen Etherington. Bridal shower About 50 guests attend- ed the bridal shower for Shawna Rowe recently. Marjorie Johns played, The Bells are Ringing and Here Comes the Bride as Erin Coward escorted Rowe to a chair on the platform. After opening the many beautiful and useful gifts, Rowe replied and everyone sang, For She's A Jolly Good Fellow. Lunch was then partaken of which brought an enjoy- able evening to a close.
