A Mega After Five
The South Huron Chamber of Commerce held its first ever Mega Business After
Five Nov. 24 at the Ranch House, offering area businesses the chance to promote
their businesses and network with other businesses.Thirteen area businesses had
displays set up and Linda Finkbeiner of the Chamber of Commerce said she was
"extremely pleased" with the evening.About 40 people attended and Finkbeiner
said they were impressed with the venue and the opportunity to network.Above

Finkbeiner and Chamber president Kelly Maidens. Of the several displays at the
event was one shared by Partners in Employment and The Centre For
Employment and Learning, seen below. Partners in Employment, at 281 Main St., is
a non-profit organization that assists people in Huron and Perth with employ-
ment barriers to find and maintain jobs. Such barriers include disabilities, lack of

self-esteem. Local employers that have worked with Partners in Employment
include Tim Hortons, McDonald's, Hansen's, New Orleans Pizza, Dinney Funeral
Home, Exi-Plast, the Grand Bend Fitness Centre and Sobeys. The Centre For
Employment and Learning, situated in Exeter at South Huron District High
School, offers literacy programs, customized training courses, employment coun-
selling, co-op employment, computer courses, high school credit courses and
online courses. Below from left are Partners in Employment facilitator George
Irvin, Centre For Employment and Learning site co-ordinator Jane Gillespie and

holding two Mega After Fives a year, in addition to the monthly After Fives it
