The Bombers took a 1- 0 lead on a power play with 8:40 left in the first but the lead only lasted for just over a minute before Lucan's Trevor Medeiros tied it at one with a power play mark- er. The Bombers took the lead again early in the first but it was all Lucan after that. Jamie Jongsma tied it again with an unassisted effort just a minute after the Bombers had taken the lead. Read is tied for first in assists with 16 Hawks play to overtime draw By Pat Bolen TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF EXETER — The Exeter Hawks managed a 2-2 tie Friday night against Mitchell in their only action of the weekend. The Hawks nursed a 2- 1 lead into the third peri- od but couldn't hold the lead and surrendered the tying goal midway through the period. Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the extra frame, leaving it as a draw. The tie leaves the Hawks with a 10-5-1-1 record for 22 points two points back of the division leading Lucan Irish. Exeter coach Derek McNair said the effort just wasn't there from his team, but said the Hawks have been on a roll lately and the team may have been looking forward to the rest of the weekend with only one game to play. "If we would have tied and the effort would have been there, that's one thing, but to tie a game when the effort's not there ... You have to have a team effort and you can't win hockey games with three or four guys going." Mitchell took a 1-0 lead in the first before Tony Tony Regier pulls in a loose puck for the Exeter hawks against Mitchell Friday night at the South Huron rec Centre. The teams played to a 2-2 draw in Exeter's only game of the week.(photo/ScottNixon) Regier put the Hawks on the board with assists from Adam Hartman and Joe Nesbitt. Larry Northover's lone goal of the second period, assisted by Dan Moir and Jason Stuckless put the Hawks up going into the third but the lead would- n't hold up. The Hawks have a busier week this week, with three games on the schedule, starting in West Lorne tonight (Wednesday) at 8:15 p.m. and back at home Friday for a visit from Belmont at 8:30 p.m. The Hawks will be back on the road Nov. 28 against Parkhill at 8 p.m. McNair said his goal going into the week would be six for six points. "If we get six points out of this week, that would be fantastic and maybe separate us a little bit from Lucan." The Hawks have made some player moves, releasing Adam Hartman to the Junior B Listowel Cyclones and letting Jason Kerwin go. Nov. 26 will be St. Boniface school night at the South Huron Rec Centre.
