was at the meeting Nov.

Ross is in Ontario help-

serve a large variety of
community needs such as
services to youth, the
blind, hearing impaired
and the elderly.
Ross said while young
people have a great inter-
est in volunteer service,
the way they want to do it
has changed.
According to Ross,
younger members want
to do it faster than in pre-
vious years, with fewer
meetings.
"They want to go out
and do things and get that
warm fuzzy feeling."
He said they will have
meetings occasionally to
determine the mission
statement for the club
and to celebrate what
they have done.
Ross said the Lions
organization was chang-
ing to meet the needs of
its members.
"Our members are our
market and the Lions are
moving to meet that mar-
ket."
He added there is a real
interest in new clubs
around the world, with
the Lions having a goal of
two million members in
seven years.
There are now clubs in
Russia and China and
Ross just returned from
Saudia Arabia where he
met with members of the
royal family.
"The need is greater
than ever and the Lions
are in the forefront," said
Ross.
