Below, a bald Dawson poses with students. (pho- tos/Mary Simmons) Santa. Claus coming to Exeter NORTH POLE — Santa Claus will make his annual visit to Exeter this Saturday. The parade will begin at noon. Members of Precious Blood Church will be collecting food items for the South Huron Christmas Bureau along the parade route. The parade will begin along Huron St. E., along Main St., to Victoria St. and conclude at the South Huron Rec Center The parade isn't the only excitement going on in town this weekend. The annual Exeter Lions and Lioness lighting of MacNaughton Park will be held Friday at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the free refreshments from Tim Hortons and carolling with the Hartmans. Another special Christmas event takes place after the Santa Claus parade. On Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the downtown parkette, the Lions are hosting their Christmas Party. Meet Santa, some of his elves and Grimace, Hamburglar and Birdie. Free candy bags, McDonald's treats and refreshment will be available. Free skating is also being offered at the South Huron Rec Centre from 1-3 p.m. Kurt Russell makes a stop in Huron County Kurt Russell was in Huron Park last week to pick up his new airplane from Andy Orr of Goderich Aircraft Inc. (photo/submitted) By Mary Simmons TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF HURON PARK — The stories were flying after Kurt Russell made a stop in Huron Park to pick up his new airplane, which was being worked on at Goderich Aircraft Inc. Andy Orr said the plane was at the company for a couple of months to receive cus- tomized interior work, maintenance modifica- tions and a comprehensive avionics installation. He said Russell learned about the business through a customer in California who had dealt with the refinishing com- pany. Russell flew in on a char- ter plane Tuesday after- noon and left for his home in Vancouver on Thursday. While here he stayed at the Oakwood Inn in Grand Bend and had meals at Eddington's and the Malibu Restaurant.
