Top four players last week were Charles Reid 225, Eleanor McAsh 217, Marg Hayter 205 and Ruth Johnston 175. The Varna Crokinole Club met last Tuesday evening for singles play and will meet again Tues., Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. The club welcomes new players; if interested please call 233- 7443. Congratulations to Scott and Kelly Rathwell on the birth of their daughter Nov. 12. Church was in Varna on Sunday with Pastor Elly Van Bergen with the wel- come, announcement and the Call to Worship Sun., Nov. 14 a Covenant Service was held for Rev. Mary Beth Wilson of the Brucefield Church. Guest speaker was David Curothers. Sun., Nov. 21 church will be in Goshen and in the evening help is needed to decorate Varna Church at 7 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 25 the Varna United Church Women are having their Christmas dinner party, one week earlier this year. Graduate - Stacey Thurman of Kitchener received her Honours BA in Religion and Culture at the Spring convocation forum at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo. She is the daughter of Judy of Exeter and Glenn of Kitchener. Very special grand- daughter of Mary Coxon of Kitchener and the late Mae Morenz. Stacey is continuing her education, pursuing her Masters in Theology through Queens University in Kingston. We are all very proud of you Stacey. Way to go! Graduate - Andy Freiter, son of Reiny and Lynda Freiter, graduated on June 8, 2004 at the Spring Convocation at Brock University with a Bachelor of Sport Management. Dec. 5 2\rovember 14 ZURICH — Although there is no longer a Village Prosperity Committee, there will still be a lighted Christmas parade sponsored by the Zurich Chamber of Commerce. The parade will be held Sun., Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. and will follow its regular route; however, it will end at the new Zurich Complex where the Bluewater Zurich Skating Club will host Santa while he greets and visits with the children.
