Pair of wins for SHDHS junior girls EXETER — The Panthers' junior girls' basketball team ended their league play with an exciting pair of wins Wednesday at home. In the opening game they defeated St. Mary's 24-23 in a seesaw battle that could not have been more exciting. The Panthers' stifling defence held the Salukis' two top offen- sive players to 10 points combined. These same two play- ers scored 53 points against St. Anne's. Panthers coach Russ Watson said it was a superb effort by the team and marked the second time this season they have beaten St. Mary's by a narrow margin. In the afternoon game, the Panthers started out strong with a pair of three-point shots, one by Sierra Douglas and another by Stephanie Dietrich. They never looked back after that as they defeated the Eagles 35- 32. St. Anne's fought hard and made it close at the end but the Panther's defence stood strong to secure the win.
