A large offering of cows were in good demand at steady prices. Holstein bull calves traded active at very strong prices. Sows and boars were steady. Ross Barber, Listowel sold 11 heifers avg. wt. 1345, avg. price 82.47 to a high of 86.50 purchased by Norwich Packers. Marion Gilliland, Watford sold 8 steers avg. wt. 1045 avg. price 74.22. SUMMARY TUESDAY The fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. Choice steers and heifers sold 75 to 80 sales to 91.75, 2nd cut steers and heifers sold 72 to 74. The cows traded steady also. THURSDAY The veal sold on a strong active trade with prices $2 to $5 higher. The lambs traded actively at prices $2 to $5 lower than last week. FRIDAY All weights and classes of stockers sold on a fully steady market. STEERS There were 434 steers on offer. Emerson L. Martin, Linwood consigned one limo steer weighing 1415 lbs which sold to Holly Park Meat Packers for 91.75. His over- all offering of ten steers averaged 1443 lbs selling for an average price of 85.92. Thirteen steers consigned by Lloyd Frey, Harriston averaged 1393 lbs selling for an average price of 75.09 with his top limo steer weighing 1225 lbs which sold to Dominion Meat Packers for 83. HEIFERS There were 138 heifers on offer. Six heifers consigned by Clarence Dekens, Clinton averaged 1296 lbs which sold for an average price of 81.46 with his top gold heifer weighing 1345 lbs selling for 84.25. Murray Switzer, St Marys consigned one limo heifer weighing 1200 lbs which sold for 84. His overall offering of seventeen heifers averaged 1301 lbs selling for an average price of 73.73. COWS There were 190 cows on offer. D1 & D2: 20-25 sales to 30; D3: 15-20; D4: 10-15; Shell Cows: 5- 8. Ikendale Farms, Walkerton consigned eight hol cows averaging 1490 lbs selling for an average price of 17.14 with sales up to 30. One limo cow consigned by Alton Century Farms, Lucknow weighed 1365 lbs which sold for 26.
