Wednesday, November 10, 2004 Exeter Times -Advocate 24 "Another great success" for Kause for Kids By Scott Nixon TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF GRAND BEND — It was another big suc- cess for the Kause for Kids parade on the weekend. Numbers weren't available in time for press, but one of the organizers, John Relouw, called the fundraiser "another great success." He said there were well over 200 motorcyclists in the parade, more than last year's event. The parade, orga- nized by Ontario's West Coast Riders, raises money and toys for local charities helping children with special needs. Last year's parade raised over $21,000 for charities in Huron, Lambton and Middlesex counties. Motorcyclists dressed up their bikes with var- ious amusing decora- tions and headed north on Hwy. 21, where they eventually made their way up Main Street. Parties with entertain- ment were held at the Gables and the Colonial. As well as local rid- ers, motorcyclists came from places like Sarnia, Chatham, Kincardine and London. "It was a great day," Relouw said, noting the perfect weather. "We're very happy with the turnout and the crowd's response," he added. "It was another great success . .. we couldn't be hap- pier." Last weekend's parade was the third annual Kause for Kids fundraiser. Relouw said another parade will be held next year. "The Bird Man," Doug Wilkinson of Port Franks was one of over 200 motorcyclists who took part in last Saturday's 3rd annual Kause for Kids parade, organized by the Ontario West Coast Riders. The parade is a fundraiser for charities in Huron, Lambton and Middlesex counties which help children with special needs. While final numbers weren't available at press time, last year's parade raised over $21,000. Organizers were pleased with this year's parade.
