Christmas shopping open house in Zurich planned for Sun. Nov 14
By Carmel Sweeney
ZURICH CORRESPONDENT
ZURICH- The pre -Christmas family dinner for the resi-
dents at the Blue Water Rest Home held Nov. 7 was
once again a big success; the weather was beautiful for
travelling. About 250 people enjoyed a delicious turkey
and ham dinner with all the trimmings. While people
waited their turn to eat, musical entertainment was pro-
vided in the lounge all afternoon. Everything was well
organized and went quite smoothly. A job well done by
all the staff and cooks and the several students who
helped Patti to set up the tables, serve food and clean up
afterwards.
The women's auxiliary were selling chances on three
draws which raised $180. First prize was a figurine won
by Kaitlyn Masse of Zurich; second prize was a dollbed
won by Jenny Spiteri (nee Stark) of Windsor; third
prize was a grocery hamper won by John Paul Cantin of
RR 2, Zurich.
The warden's banquet was held at the
Blue Water Community Centre in Zurich
Nov. 5 with approximately 300 people attending. A deli-
cious roast beef dinner with all the trimmings was
enjoyed prepared by Jerry Rader and staff in honour of
Bill Dowson and his wife Joyce.
Correction: Brenda and Garry Koehler recently cele-
brated their 25th wedding anniversary.
