Epilepsy Huron Perth Bruce is hosting a pre- sentation by the Lions Foundation of Canada Dogguides. The presen- tation takes place in Clinton at the Government Building (formerly OMAF) at 100 Don St. The meeting will take place Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m. During the seminar, you will learn about guide dog training, who is eligible and what it takes to have a guide dog. Since 1983, the lives of over 640 men, women and children from the age of eight to 84 have been enriched by the services of a specially trained dog guide from the Lions Foundation of Canada. Dog guide han- dlers across the country have experienced the enrichment of their lives through new found free- dom and independence and the companionship of a devoted dog guide partner. A number of fami- ly members also visited. On Sunday, Hazel visited St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Stratford for the 9:30 a.m. service of holy eucharist, 23rd after Pentecost with Rev. Joan Stiles, celebrant followed by coffee hour in the parish hall. Sunday at 6 p.m. St. Patrick's celebrated their evening prayer service with Katie -Scarlett MacGillivray leading the service assisted by Corbin MacGillivray. Suzanne and Starr Davis assisted with Scripture lessons and offering. Message and focus was entitled Coming with Questions based on the holy gospel. St. Patrick's war veterans were remembered with prayers and In Flanders Fields was read. The service closed with prayer and evening hymn, Now the Light has Gone Away. 0 u r prayers con- tinue to be with Starr Davis as she recuperates. Following the service, everyone enjoyed the singing of Happy Birthday to Heather MacGillivray and Margaret Carroll both celebrating this week. A time of fellowship with birthday cake and tea fol- lowed. Happy birthday to these special women from all at St. Patrick's. Mitchell and Michelle Iredale were visitors this weekend with grandpar- ents Ron and Margaret Carroll. The Carrolls visited the Hopper Hockey Funeral Home in Exeter to pay their respects to the fami- ly of the late Irene Bertram who passed away this week and to the funeral service on Monday. Starr Davis was Saturday evenin overnight visitor with sister and brother-in-law Crystal and Bryan Ellerington. SAINTSBURY NEWS Man res• ists arrest BLUEWATER - On Nov. 3 a few minutes before 2 a.m. an officer spotted a vehicle in Bayfield acting suspi- ciously. The officer attempted to stop the 1993 Chrysler Intrepid on Jane Street before it suddenly pulled into a private drive and stopped. The officer found two people inside the car and asked the driver to get out when a number of signs indicated he was impaired. The man became agitated and resisted the arresting officer. The man was arrested, but it required three officers to take him into custody. He was taken to the Huron OPP sta- tion where breath tests were conducted, showing he was below the level of criminal charges being laid. A search of the driver also turned up a small amount of cannabis marijuana. The 30 -year-old Central Huron man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and obstructing/resisting arrest. He was later released to attend court in Goderich Dec. 3. Garage entered EXETER — On Nov. 6 at 8 a.m. the OPP was contact- ed about a break-in at a residence on Orchard Street in Exeter. Someone entered the garage on the property overnight and stole a 24 -inch square, a four foot level, a jig saw, a digital millimeter, drill bits, a hack saw, a hammer, a 9.6 volt drill, a measuring tape, a socket set, a nut driver, screwdrivers, a 10 -inch car polisher, wire cutters, a table top barbecue, a Thermos picnic cooler and a five die cast metal scale model automobile set. Police say this residence has been the target of at least three thefts over the past few months. Anniversary service Nov 21 at 10 a.m. By Liz Sangster HENSALL CORRESPONDENT HENSALL — At Hensall United Church Bill Gibson was the organist with Ross Riley welcoming everyone. Pat and Doug Cook received the offering. Pastor Fred Darke's message was 'A Future In Their Monument'. This was the Remembrance Day service; a complete account of this special service and other Legion news will be in this column next week. An anniversary ser- vice will be held Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. at Hensall United Church. Come out and enjoy the friendship of the November meal at the Hensall Drop -In Nov. 18 at the Hensall United Church. Lunch will be served at 12 noon and a penny sale will follow. All are welcome to this lun- cheon held on the third Thursday of each month. The cost is $5 per person. If required, transportation can be provided. To make reservations, contact Marg Cole at 262-2304 or Faye Skinner at 235-0258 by noon on Mon., Nov. 15. Village of Hensall residents are reminded that the last day for curbside pick-up of leaves will be Fri., Nov. 12. Special thanks to the Hensall Community Development Action Committee who took the initiative to secure the village equipment from the Municipality of Bluewater and complete the necessary repairs in order to offer this leaf pick-up service. Special thanks to Andy Bilcke and his crew of volun- teers who worked so diligently to repair the equip- ment and pick up the leaves. Special thanks to Robert Bell for driving the tractor.
