(42-45*) POLICE BRIEFS Male charged with assault EXETER - On Oct. 22 at approximately 9:15 p.m. the OPP received a call from a concerned neighbour over a suspect- ed domestic assault in progress. Officers responded to an apartment complex on Carling Street in Exeter and were told a couple who had been living together for several years had gotten into an argu- ment over financial issues. The matter result- ed in one person alleged- ly assaulting the other and some clothing was damaged in the process. The 35 -year-old alleged victim was found with facial injuries but refused medical attention. A 43 -year-old male from Exeter has been charged with assault and will attend court in Exeter Dec. 16. He was released with several conditions. Male found wandering on highway BLUEWATER - Huron OPP was contacted by cit- izens about a man who appeared to be drunk wandering on the high- way Oct. 25 at 2:45 p.m. Officers went to a location south of Clinton on London Road to find a man wandering all over the roadway dressed in shorts. The man was stumbling along with a beer in his hands, making it dangerous for motorists and himself. The man was found to be intoxicat- ed, arrested and due to his condition was held in a cell until he was sober. The 64 -year-old man from St. Mary's was later released from custody and charged with a liquor violation.
