Macnair new head
coach for Hawks
EXETER — The
Exeter Hawks have a
new boss behind the
bench.
Former head coach
Dave Revington, who
guided the Hawks to
the junior D
champi-
onship last
season, was
behind the
bench for
the last time
Oct.15 against
Lambeth before
resigning for personal
reasons.
Taking over behind
the bench is Derek
MacNair, who is orig-
inally from Timmins
and has been in the
area since 1997.
Macnair coached at
the tier two level in
Timmins and last sea-
son was behind the
bench of the London
AAA major bantams
as they won the all -
Ontario silver medal.
MacNair says he is a
firm believer in "win-
ning games because
you score goals but
I'm not going to let
my own end reflect
that. I think you take
care of
your own
end and let
the offence take
care of itself."
MacNair
added the age or
experience of players
isn't important to
him.
"What I like is hard
working individuals
who are going to do
what I ask them to do
and what is expected
of them. As long as
they are working
hard they won't have
a problem with me."
