In the first game against the number two team, the Goderich Vikings, the Panthers started strongly with striker Amber Caldwell scoring from a Shelby Musser penalty, with Leanne Cronyn assisting with just three minutes on the clock. One minute later, Anne Gregus made it two, scor- ing on a Caldwell �'�'' rebound from a Gregus �O pass. After 13 minutes Musser tucked in a neat little reverse stick shot from a Cronyn free hit. The score at the half was 3-0 for the home team. South Huron continued to dominate and midway through the half, Gregus doubled her tally, on a Cronyn redi- rect from a Lindsay Mills free hit. Kelsey O'Rourke recorded the shutout. The final score was South Huron 4, Goderich 0. In the second game, the Panthers faced Mitchell and went on the attack early and often. After four minutes, Leanne Cronyn converted a free hit from Kelly Cronyn. Five minutes later, Gregus notched another and then on 27 minutes, L. Cronyn scored with a blazing shot which left the goalie stranded. The final score was 3-0, but could have been much larger. Kaitlin Haakvort recorded the shutout. The team ended the Huron on p Perth season with a 10-0 `Fij record. They traveled to Glencoe t: Tuesday to compete in to WOSSAA competition 0 where they met the TVRAA second place team, either Parkside, or Medway who were playing their final on Monday, and Sarnia Collegiate, from SWOSSAA. If the Panthers finish number one or two in their pool, they will return to Glencoe for semi-final and then bronze, or gold medal games today (Wednesday) after the literacy test for Grade tens. The semi will be at 2 p.m. and finals at 4 p.m. Only the winning team will advance to OFSAA (Ontario Championships) in Waterloo next week. The win gives the Jets a 5-0-0 record with 10 points, three back of Durham. (photo/MarySimmons) The Jets were up 2-0 after one period and 6- 0 after the second before coasting to the 11-1 win. Jets goalie Marc William was within one minute of a shutout before Goderich fired its lone goal of the game. Todd Hunt had a hat trick to lead the Jets, with two each by Bob Grant, and Rob Silver and singles from Greg Henderson, Jason Wilson, Mike Vandeven and Corey Smith. The Jets outshot the visitors 50 to 25.
