Clarification
Information that ran with photos of the
Community Living - South Huron auction
in last week's T -A omitted the fact that
the auction was organized by the
Community Living Auxiliary. All the
money raised, over $20,000, will go
towards the needs of the clients.
Correction
In a cutline in last week's edition of the
Times -Advocate and the Weekender,
two Precious Blood students were incor-
rectly identified as placing fourth and
tenth at a cross country meet. Brett
Overholt placed fourth and Justin Reid
placed tenth.
The T -A apologizes for the error.

GRAND BEND - The
October Women's Institute
meeting of Grand Bend
was opened by president
Cass Lovie reading an
inspirational message. The
message was `If Your Dog
Was A Teacher You
Would Learn', when loved
ones come home, run to
meet them, never pass up
an opportunity to go for a
joy ride, thrive on atten-
tion and let people touch
you, and when someone is
having a bad day, sit
silently close by and nuz-
zle gently. The business
meeting held at Grog's fol-
lowed a delightful lun-
cheon. A very good report
was given concerning the
group's participation in
the Thanksgiving farmer's
market. The musicians, it
was noted, added to the
atmosphere. The Grand
Bend WI will entertain at
the Blue Water Nursing
Home on Nov. 17 at 2:30
p.m.
Doris Bestard was pre-
sented with a 25 -year pin.
A report of the 85th
anniversary party of
Crediton WI was given.
Grand Bend WI received
recognition for the Ontario
Historical Society in
regards to their
Tweedsmuir History
Books.
Several women
expressed interest in
attending the quilt auction
in Stratford on Nov. 13.
The Grand Bend women
will begin quilting in
November on a quilt to be
sold next September at the
International Centre. A
representative from the
Huron County Alzheimer
Society will be at the
November meeting to
receive monies raised
from the hotdog sale at the
farmer's market. Grand
Bend WI wishes to
thankall for their support
at the market on
Thanksgiving weekend.
An educational wagon
tour at Twin Pines
Orchard was enjoyed by
the members. Many trees
were loaded with rich bur-
gundy -coloured apples.
There are 13 varieties of
apples grown on the farm.
Soon they will be experi-
menting with organic
apples. The workings of
the family -run farm was
explained by Mike
Vansteenkiste At the com-
pletion of the informative
afternoon, several women
purchased apples to enjoy
at home.
