Marilyn Carter was in charge of the baptismal and church service on Sunday morning. The Introit was sung and peo- ple shook hands. Rev. Carter gave greetings and the announcements, led in the Call to Worship, the Prayer of Approach and the Affirmation of Faith in unison. Brett Warwick lit the Christ Candle and poured the water in the bap- tismal font. Rev. Carter told the youth a story about baptism. Sharon Passmore, on behalf of the congrega- tion of Thames Road- Elimville United Church, presented Brandon Alexander Johns and Brooke Kasey Johns, chil- dren of Kevin David Johns and Sandra Dawn (Verwey) Johns; Carter Michael Bowerman, child of Michael Kenneth Bowerman and Laura Joan Skinner; and Shaelin Elizabeth Ann McCann, child of Sean Patrick McCann and Jodie Elizabeth (McGee) McCann. Passmore presented each parents with a lighted candle. Karen Etherington presented the parents with a Bible and Joyce Fulton present- ed them with certificates. The choir sang Treasure Each Moment of Life accompanied by pianist Jean Hodgert. Part Four of Psalm 65 was read responsively. Rev. Carter read Luke 18:9-14 and the title of her sermon was `A Uniquely Mixed Bag'. Passmore and Rebecca Heesels received the offering and were the greeters. Everyone read the Commissioning and Rev. Carter pronounced the Benediction. Everyone sang, May the God of Hope Go With Us. Area churches have also been invited to THAMES ROAD NEWS POLICE BRIEFS $4,000 damage done to new home under construction BLUEWATER — On Oct. 4 at 4:45 p.m. the OPP was called to the Bayview Subdivision located on Duke Crescent in Bluewater over property damage. According to police, a company was in the process of constructing a new home at this location. Sometime in the last day youths under the age of 12 entered the property and smashed forms set up for pouring the footings for the new home. The damage has been esti- mated at approximately $4,000. The OPP is dealing with several youths under the age of 12 and their parents over this damage and the replacement of damaged property. 362 Main Street EXETER 519.235.0009 attend. Personals Quite a number of peo- ple called at the Hopper Hockey Funeral Home last Wednesday to pay their respect to the late Lynda (Glanville) Hartman who passed away on Tuesday.
