Jets remain unbeaten with pair of wins
By Pat Bolen
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
LUCAN — The Lucan
Ilderton Jets improved
their record to 4-0-0 with
a pair of wins on the
weekend starting with a
7-1 win in Brussels Friday
night before beating the
Clinton Radars 5-3 in
Lucan Oct. 16.
The wins leave the Jets
one point behind Durham
for first place with
Hensall in third.
The Jets were outshot
21-1 in the first period
against Brussels but
goalie Marc Williams
stopped everything fired
at him, allowing the Jets
to finish the period up 1-0
after a goal with one sec-
ond left by Mark Phillips.
The Jets took control in
the second with a short-
handed goal from Chad
Lambourn and a pair
from Craig Black.
Luc an/Ilderton
increased its lead early in
the third with a goal from
Todd Hunt.
They continued to find
the net with a power play
marker from Steve
Matthews at 12:01.
The Crusaders finally
Todd Hunt and Jason Wilson crash the net for the Lucan Ilderton Jets against
Clinton Oct. 16 in Lucan. The Jets remained undefeated with a 5-3 win.

broke the shutout of
Williams just over a
minute later but Ben
Dobbie replied with
another power play goal
to make it a 7-1 win for
the Jets.
Picking up assists in the
win were Todd Hunt,
Mike Vandeven, Dobbie,
Adam Thompson, Brady
Kjeldgaard, Steve
Matthews, Black, Rob
Silver, Bill Byers and
Jason Wilson.
The Jets grabbed a lead
just over a minute into
the first period against
Clinton on a goal by Byers
before the Radars struck
back with a pair before
the game was five min-
utes old.
But Mark Philips tied it
and Wilson's power play
goal put the Jets ahead 3-
2 at the end of one period.
Clinton replied midway
through the second peri-
od to tie it but with just 10
seconds left in the period
Wilson's second of the
game put the Jets ahead
to stay.
Mark Phillips gave
Lucan/Ilderton some
insurance for the 5-3 win
five minutes into the
third.
The Jets have one game
this week with Goderich
visiting Saturday night at
8:30 p.m.
