By Pat Bolen
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
EXETER — The Exeter
Hawks split a pair of
home games on the week-
end to run their record to
4-3-0 with a 3-2 win
Friday night over
Lambeth, before dropping
a 3-1 decision Oct. 17 to
Thamesford.
The Hawks have eight
points with Lucan having
12 for first in the division.
Mt. Brydges remains
undefeated with a 6-0-0
record for first in the con-
ference, with Tavistock in
first place overall with a
7-1-1 record for 15
points.
The Hawks fired a goal
in each period against
Lambeth Friday night.
The Lancers got all their
offence in the space of a
20 second span in the
second period, when they
struck for a pair of goals
30 seconds apart.
Matt Vlemmix put the
Hawks on the board just
over a minute into the
game with a power play
marker which was the
only goal of the period.
Scott Davies put the
Hawks up by two goals at
17:55 with an unassisted
effort before Lambeth
struck quickly to tie the
score 2-2 going into the
third.
Just under five minutes
into the third it was Justin
LaPorte notching the win-
ning goal.
Exeter went 1-7 with
the man advantage and
killed off all nine Lambeth

power plays.
Getting assists in the
win were Jamie Wolfe,
Brandon Wedlock and
Nathan Regier.
It was another low scor-
ing game Sunday night,
but the Hawks came out
on the short end of a 3-1
score.
Jason Kerwin had the
lone marker for Exeter
as they fell behind in the
first on a power play goal
and gave up one more in
each of the next two peri-
ods.
Thamesford took a 2-0
lead in the second before
Kerwin replied a minute
later but it was all the
Hawks could get for the
night.
Kevin McCelland gave
Thamesford some insur-
anc at 7:39 of the third.
Exeter was 0-4 on the
power play and
Thamesford converted
one of its four chances
with the man advantage.

games this week, starting
with Mt. Brydges in town
