Individuals who want to donate their car to "Car Heaven" will receive a free tow (valued at $200) by a member of the Ontario Automotive Recycler's Association (OARA) and a charitable receipt for a minimum of $60. Cars 11 years old or newer are bid on by mem- bers of OARA. Vehicles 12 years old and older have a set value of $60. Donors who wish can now choose to donate the proceeds of their recycled car to the Canadian Red Cross. "Partnerships, like our partnership with 'Car Heaven,' make it possible for the Red Cross to help those in need," said Ontario zone Red Cross general manager Gord Moore. "Every penny counts in making a difference in the lives of others." "Car Heaven" is dedicat- ed to accelerating the retirement of older, high- er polluting vehicles and to promoting a shift from traditional forms of trans- portation to cleaner alter- natives (public transit, hybrid vehicles and car - sharing alternatives).
