Euchre and turkey raffle in Hensall

Society annual Halloween
decorating contest. There
are separate categories
for homes and businesses
and prizes will be award-
ed to the top three win-
ners in each category. To
enter the contest phone
262-2715 by Oct. 22.
At Hensall United
Church, Pastor Fred
Darke's message was 'To
nag or not to nag, that is
the question'. Lillian Beer
and Betty Simmons looked
after the nursery. The
Scripture lesson was read
and the Christ Candle lit
by Lois Hayter. The guest
organist was Carol Carter,
a former Hensall resident.
Dorothy Corbett wel-
comed everyone to the
service.
Legion update
On Wednesday evening
Hensall Legion held their
regular meeting with zone
commander Shirley
Chalmers making the
annual visit. Motions were
passed to donate $50 to
the Alzheimer Society,
$200 to the Children's Aid
Christmas
Bureau,
as well as
sponsoring a pee -wee
hockey team in a tourna-
ment in Lucknow on Nov.
26 and 27. Don't forget, it
is once again time to pay
your dues; why not be an
early bird and pay them
before Nov. 30 for only
$34. After Nov. 30 dues
are $39.
On Sat., Oct. 23 there
will be a euchre tourna-
ment and turkey raffle.
Registration is at 12:30
p.m., games begin at 1
p.m. This event is to be
held downstairs at the
branch, which is now non-
smoking.
Remembrance Day ser-
vice will be held on Sun.,
Nov. 7 at Hensall United
Church at 10 a.m. A ser-
vice at the cenotaph will
follow. The annual door-

Precious Blood to host
Christmas Bureau
EXETER - The monthly
meeting of Precious Blood
Catholic Women's League
was held Oct. 12 in the
parish hall. There were
21 women present.
President Joan Agnew
opened the meeting with
the League Prayer. Anna
Marie Cook gave a spiri-
tual reading entitled,
`Thanksgiving Blessing'.
Mary Van Rooy received a
letter entitled,
`Judgement Day' which
she asked Pat Puchiak to
read.
Wendy Meidinger asked
for volunteers to sign up
and help at the annual
penny sale which will
take place Nov. 3 at 7
p.m. in the Precious Blood
hall.
Agnew reported on the
fall regional day held in
Dublin Sept. 29. Members
of the diocesan executive
Farm house
entered
BLUEWATER — The
OPP responded to the
report of a break-in to a
farm house on Dashwood
Road in Bluewater Oct. 14
at 12:15 p.m. Sometime
between 7 p.m. and 2
a.m. a door window was
smashed to gain entry.
Although the entire house
was rummaged through,
nothing was missing.
Damage to the window
has been set at $100.
Investigators found
someone had driven up to
the home on an ATV. The
tracks were lost due to
rain, but they indicate the
thieves left by crossing
the fields.

Remembrance dinner will

Centre. Tickets are avail-

farmer from the Centralia
area.

PLAN H7-3-902 Classic Two -Level Design This contemporary family home reinvents the classic two-level design. The main living rooms are all on the
ground level, with the bedrooms located upstairs. An unfinished basement offers additional space for storage or future expansion. The exterior is finished
with stucco, accented by rock facing. Windows are trimmed with a simple wood frame, emphasizing their clean rectangular lines. A covered porch
shields the front door, which opens to reveal an airy foyer. A den on the left could be used as a home office. To the right, a stairway leads to the second
floor and the basement. Directly ahead is the great room and kitchen, an informal space spanning the entire back half of the home. A gas fireplace and
windows overlooking The backyard highlight the great room. From here, a single door opens to the rear patio. The adjoining breakfast nook has a bayed
