Lucan was coming off a 4-1 win Sept Oct. 6 against North Middlesex but the Hawks jumped out to a lead they would- n't surrender with three goals in the first period. Exeter got on the board early with the first of two in the period from Justin LaPorte, wrapped around a power play marker from Dan Moir. LaPorte's second goal came with just nine sec- onds remaining in the period. Lucan got back in the game in the second peri- od with a pair of goals starting with a power play goal off the stick of Trevor Medeiros before Dan Crowley cut the lead to one. But the Hawks restored the two -goal lead before the period was over with a marker from Jason Stuckless. Just over two minutes into the third, Matt Vlemmix would get what would prove to be the winner, cashing in after a scramble around the Irish net. Lucan refused to quit however, making it a two -goal margin with a solo effort by Medeiros, as he cut across the Exeter net before stuffing it past goalie Justin Hayter.
