Jamie Jongmsa put the Irish ahead to stay early in the first period before Lucan took a 2-0 lead with two minutes left in the period on a power play marker by Bobby Martin. Lambeth broke through in the third period to ruin the shutout bid of goalie Corey Hackney, who faced 36 shots on the night for the win. Picking up a pair of assists was Read, with sin- gles to Kyle Smith, Tyler French, Jongsma and Martin. The victory puts Lucan at 2-0-0 for the sea- son as they prepare to face the Exeter Hawks Friday night at 8:30 p.m. in Exeter. Lucan is at home tonight (Wednesday) to face North Middlesex at 7:45 p.m. Making up the Lucan Irish this year are goalies Joe Dobbie and Hackney, along with Andrew Lang, Jongsma, Ryan Scheurmann, Trevor Medeiros, Jeff McLean, Matt Camenzuli, Tyson Dejong, Whitcomb, Tyler French, Derek Liddle, Bill Wright, Mark Read, Kyle Roth, Chad Kipp, Kyle Smith, Chris Van Kasteren, Mike Jacques, Charlie Moir, Pat Flood, Steve Wells, Dan Crowley Matt Blane and Bobby Martin. Lucan coach Randy Campbell said Lucan has had a pair of solid efforts and is happy with the start the club is off to. "We've got a lot of young guys and we're looking for a .500 hockey season and go from there in the play- offs ... We'll find out by the end of the week where we fit in a little bit more."
