CREDITON - The South
Region Elementary
Schools and School
Councils are pleased to
host an Information
Evening for a Caring
Community on Oct. 12 at
Stephen Central Public
School, RR2 Crediton,
entitled With All Due
Respect. The guest speak-
er will be Ron Morrish.
Morrish is an indepen-
dent consultant who has
spoken to parent groups,
teachers, child care
providers and students
internationally. Morrish
has written two books
entitled Secrets of
Discipline and With All
Due Respect. He is a for-

excellent opportunity for
parents, community
members, students and
staff to hear a common
message as we continue
to support one of the
Avon Maitland's District
School board goals "To
promote the development
of positive citizenship
qualities hi our students".

the Ministry of Economic
Development and Trade.
Partners in this event are
the Huron Business
Development Corporation
(HBDC), the County of
Huron, the Huron East
Economic Development
Committee and the
Heartland Community
Credit Union.
The event is designed to
encourage secondary
school students to learn
more about entrepreneur-
ship through the creation
of an effective business
plan. It encourages youth
to consider entrepreneur-
ship as a possible career
option for the future and
give them practical experi-
ence in what is required
for a start-up business.
They should have a better
understanding of the need
for careful planning before
investing time and energy
into a business enterprise
due to their formation of a
written plan.
The students do not have
to run the business, simply
prepare and submit a for-
mal business plan. The
contest is open to all high
school students in Huron
and Perth counties, and
the plans can be devel-
oped as partnerships or
sole proprietorships. With
five cash prizes (ranging
from $500 to $100) this is
an opportunity for all
enterprising students!
Application for the 2005
Business Plan Competition
will be accepted until April
30, 2005. For more infor-
mation, contact Alison
Lobb at the Huron
Business Enterprise
Centre in Seaforth, 527-
