Autumn Indulgence sells out chooses an idol
GRAND BEND —The Grand Bend Rotary Club used
a combination of good food, entertainment and a
unique auction of hand painted chairs by local artists to
kick off their inaugural "Autumn Indulgence" last
Saturday night at the Huron Country Playhouse.
The club, which has raised about $500,000 since its
inception, will use the proceeds of approximately
$40,000 from the night for local projects. Randi Ivey,
below, one of the hostesses, managed to find time for a
brief moment of relaxation on a chair designed by
Teresa Marie. Artist Rae Anne Ladouceur of Exeter,
bottom left, is shown with her design. Rotarians Eric
Jackson, and event co-chairs, Craig Scott and Roger
Wallis, pictured above left, promoted bidding on the
chairs to hundreds of guests. (photos/Barbara Beckett)
Dr. Lam re -opening office
DASHWOOD — Dr. Ming Lam is re -opening her
practice Oct. 4.
After taking a leave of absence in July, Lam is
returning to the Dashwood Medical Centre, which
will operate under its regular hours.
In the meantime, the Grand Bend Area Community
Health Centre (GBACIIC) has applied to the Ministry
of Health for funding which would make the
Dashwood Medical Centre a satellite of the GBACHC.
If that happens, the Dashwood Medical Centre will
offer additional services including a nurse practition-
er.
