She plays tenor saxophone and the trombone in four school bands and has been figure skating since she was three years old. She also took up synchro- nized skating three years ago and plays soccer. Her parents are Paul and Beth Anstett and her sponsor is Stedmans V&S. Ashley Arnold Darlings Ashley Arnold, 18 of Huron Park is a Grade I2 student at South Huron District High School. She works at Darlings Food Market and would like to be an early education teacher. Her hobbies are all forms of dance. Her parents are Cathy and Mike Arnold and her sponsor is Darlings. Jenna Becker Hansen's Independent Grocer Jenna Becker is a 19 - year -old graduate of South Huron District High School.The Dashwood resident is now working at Hansen's Independent Grocer and will attend Fanshawe College in January in the per- sonal support work- er program.Among Jenna's interests is figure skating. Her parents are John and Mary. Jenna is spon- sored by Hansen's Independent Grocer. Nicole Christie Eden View Acres Ltd. Nicole Christie, 18, of Huron Park is a student a South Huron District High School. She would like to become a teacher and started taking dance lessons when she was five and performs in sev- eral different types including ballet, lyri- cal and modern. Her parents are Bonnie Christie and stepfa- ther Brian Kennedy. Her sponsor is Eden View Acres Ltd. in Centralia. Natasha Duckworth In Style with Michelle Natasha Duckworth, 17, of Exeter, is a Grade 12 student at St.Anne's Catholic Secondary School in Clinton.After she graduates from high school, Natasha plans to study the legal assistant program at Fanshawe College. Daughter of Bill and Julie, Natasha works at Hansen's Independent Grocer and enjoys playing and coaching soccer in her spare time. Her sponsor is In Style With Michelle. Celebrate WI anniversary Oct. 16 CREDITON - The September meet- ing of the Crediton Women's Institute was held at the cottage of Earl and Jean Neil with the theme based on the Hawaiian Islands. A contest to guess when the pic- ture of the Neils' visit to the islands was taken was won by RoseMary Neeb and Chris Vanhie. A spelling bee of the islands was enjoyed by all members and Cheryl MacLeod was the winner. President Anne Cottel presided for the business meeting and read a poem about September. The roll call to name something relating to the Hawaiian Islands was answered by 12 members. The District rally will be Sept. 27 in Gorrie. Attending from Crediton Narcotics stolen BLUEWATER — Huron OPP is investigating a break-in at the Zurich Pharmacy located on Goshen Street in Zurich. On Sept. 6 at 5:15 a.m. an alarm was activated to the building. Officers responded to find some- one had entered the building through a win- dow. The window was in an upper level and was forced open when a lad- der was left outside in a yard, which was used to gain entry. According to police, $2,200 worth of narcotics was stolen. The London area convention is Oct. 5 in Holmesville. Members finalized their duties for this event. The Crediton WI is celebrating its 85th anniversary on Oct. 16 with district branches invited for an afternoon of fun and celebration at the Crediton hall. The annual senior citizens ban- quet was discussed and plans made for the event to be held Nov. 22 at the Crediton hall. Members enjoyed playing bingo and winners were Dearing, Shapton, Ada Dietrich, Irene Haugh, Vanhie, and Lois Hodgins. Davey read all about `Hugs' and the evening closed with lunch pre- pared by the hosts of the evening. Church news The Friday morning Bible study at Zion United Church in Crediton begins Fri., Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. Please note there is no Bible study on Oct. 15. The junior youth group will begin Wed., Oct. 6 at the church. Drop-off time is 3:45 to 4 p.m. and pick-up time between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. An evening Bible study is to begin Tues., Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the church with the Gospel of John as the topic. POLICE BRIEF Building material stolen from residence SOUTH HURON — On Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. the OPP was contacted over the theft of building material. The theft occurred sometime during the early morn- ing hours when someone entered the property and stole 66 large grey cement blocks off a wooden skid. The blocks were approximately 12 inches long and 10 inches high. If you have information about this theft call the OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477(TIPS).
