Lessons are given by Susanne Strang and Judy Dougall, certified instructors from the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging. Dougall said activities include cardio -walk- ing, balance, muscle toning and stretching. Most of the participants are 50 and older, although Dougall said all ages are welcome.The program has run for a few years and takes a break at Christmas and in August. (photo/Scott Nixon) Right to Life dinner set for Sept. 30 EXETER - The September meeting of Precious Blood Catholic Women's League was held Sept. 14 following the 7 p.m. mass. There were 18 members pre- sent. Joan Agnew opened the meeting with the League Prayer. Father Ray Lawhead gave the spiri- tual reading, Psalm 139. Cecilia Mittelholtz introduced the guest speaker, Terri Bauer from Birthright, London. Bauer spoke about the work the organiza- tion does to help women, such as resource information and material aid. Minutes of May meeting The minutes of the May meeting were read by Pat Campbell. An invitation to attend the opening of the MacNaughton Morrison Trail Oct. 3 at 1:30 p.m. was received. Oct. 3 Lifechain against abor- tion will be held in Stratford from 2 to 3 p.m. Pat Hern gave the trea- surer's report. There are 85 paid members. The WRAP campaign, White Ribbon Against Pornography, will take place Oct. 17 and 24. White ribbons will be given out after the 9 a.m. mass. Right to Life dinner An invitation to the Right to Life dinner at Sacred Heart, Parkhill Sept. 30 was received. Mittelholtz reported the women who served tea at the Villa on June 15 had a enjoyable time. Agnew and Joanne Steffens will attend the regional meeting in Dublin Sept. 18. Agnew, Anna Marie Cook, Monique Van Bruewaene and Mary Van Rooy will attend the deanery meeting in Dublin Sept. 29. The next reverse food drive will be Oct. 10. Van Rooy's group is in charge of the October meeting. Steffens won the door prize. Bill Gibson was the organist with Kay Mock reading the Scripture lesson. The greeter was Jeanette Turner with Lillian Beer and Betty Simmons as the ushers. Nursery atten- dants were Maggie Jinks and Barb Westlake - Powers. On Sept. 21 Hensall United Church hosted a Coffee Break in support of the Alzheimer Society from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Pastor Darke is starting an electionary-based Bible study group. Fall plant auction The Hensall and Community I-Iorticultural Society fall plant auction with auctioneer Pirie Mitchell and Erik Jacobson from Parkway Gardens in London will be held Thursday night at 7:15 p.m. Members will share their plants and Jacobson will bring new and unusual plants from his gardens and answer questions. Lunch and door prizes will follow. Everyone is welcome.
