HENSALL — An infor-
mation meeting will be
held at Hensall Public
School Sept. 30 at 7:30
p.m. sponsored by the
Concerned Citizens of
Hensall.
The purpose of the meet-
ing is to provide questions
to answers Hensall resi-
dents have about the pos-
sible deamalgamation of
Hensall from the
Municipality of Bluewater.
The meeting is in
response to questions
raised during canvassing
of Hensall by the con-
cerned citizens group for a
petition
The questions included
what reserves the village
has, what it will cost and
whether it is financially
viable for Hensall to dea-
malgamate.
Concerned Citizen's
president Kay Wise said a
business plan is being pre-
pared and the information
going into it will be avail-
able at the meeting.
Hensall Coun. Rod
Parker will be at the meet-
ing and Wise said

Bluewater Mayor Bill
Dowson has been invited.
The petition canvassed
360 homes in Hensall and
560 signatures were
received for a 93 per cent
approval rating, said Wise.
The petition was taken,
according to Wise, for two
reasons.
"So we would have it
ready when the time came
and to judge the level of
support."
She added the petition
speaks volumes about the
level of support for Hensall
deamalgamating and of
the people who went out
to canvass.
Wise said the people she
hesitated to ask were the
biggest surprises, and she
received comments such
as "I can't believe what we
almost lost."
