The owner told police some- one entered a house under construction sometime in the last two weeks and stole a red Milwaukee Superhawg right angle drill valued at $530. If you can help solve this crime call the local OPP or Crime Stoppers dropped off at the Shoppers Drug Mart on 65 Main St. Community Health Services public health nurse Marnie Garrett and project supervisor Nancy Wai say it is "extremely important" for residents to take a good look at medi- cines to increase safety in their homes. "It's as simple as check- ing all the places that medicines are stored and cleaning out those that are out -dated and no longer needed," they explained. "Keeping, taking or shar- ing old medications can lead to serious injury such as falls and poisonings both for older adults and children." Here are some steps res- idents can take: • clean out the expired and out -dated medicines including prescription, over the counter and herbal medications or vita- mins; • if you don't know if a drug is still good, check with your pharmacist; • place medicines in a bag and bring to partici- pating pharmacies; • bring the bag to a pharmacy for safe and free disposal; • medication in your home should always be locked up and out of chil- dren's reach.
