General manager Ken Freeman said the team had around seven posi- tions to fill before the team opened its season Sept. 25 in Belmont at 7:30 p.m. The Irish play their home opener Sept. 29 with Lambeth visiting at 7:45 p.m. Among the players miss- ing from Lucan's lineup this year will be Tyler Silver and Trevor Smith as well as Matt Reid and Tom Burns. Freeman said on the first night of tryouts, 110 players came out and the team was down to around 30 by the end of last week. He added with over 50 per cent of its roster left over from last season, the team would be all right. Carrying most of the load in net for the Irish will again be Joe Dobbie, who is an overager this season. Freeman said it hadn't been decided yet who would be backing Dobbie up but said over 20 goalies had been at the Claybird Club draw winners EXETER - The Claybird Gun Club held its annual fundraising draw on Sept. 5. Winners were as follows: 1st black powder rifle Joe Woods, Kerwood; 2nd 22 rifle Ron Perriman, Arkona; 3rd hand knit sweater Gary Pullham, London; 4th case 12GA shells Paul Lankin, Lucan; 5th silver tie tack Joe Lojzer, Lucan; 6th 6 rounds skeet Scott Dinney, Crediton; 7th silver tie tack Paul Warwick, Exeter; 8th 6 rounds skeet Mark Ramsay, Ailsa Craig; 9th 4 rounds skeet Claude Brisbois, London. Behind the bench for the Irish will once again be Randy Campbell. Until the first month of the season is over, Freeman said it will be difficult to tell which teams will be challenging for the top spots. He said the team was playing a series of exhibi- tion games against Mt. Brydges, Lambeth and Mitchell rather than play- ing in a Thamesford weekend tournament. "You're playing four or five games but it's all on the one weekend ... It's better in my opinion, than if a guy has a bad week- end and then you're done." lawn bowling monday, august 30, 2004 Brad Claus 1WIT21 Pauline Simmons 1W13 John Horn 1T8 Aim Lorento 1T8 Isobelle Rescorl 1T8 tuesday, august 31, 2004 Jurgen Fessler 2W29 Brad Claus Jerry DeBoer Ken Sage Mary DeBoer John Cooper Har Brintnell Jim Chapman Pat Palen 1W13 Audrey MacGregor 1W13 thursday, sept. 2, 2004 Fran Mickle 2W32 2W26 2W21 2W21 1W19 1W15 1W13 1W13 Jim Chapman Marg Deichert Bill Mickle Frank Regier Har Brintnell Pauline Simmons Harry Winters Brad Claus 1W11 Jerry DeBoer 1W11 Audrey MacGregor 1W11 saturday, sept. 4, 2004 Jerry DeBoer 2W21 Har Brintnell 1W14 Mary DeBoer 1W14 Lucy Sage 1W14 Geraldine Smith 1W14 Audrey MacGregor 1W13 Wilmer Adkins 1W12 John Cooper 1W12 Marg Deichert 1W12 John Batten 1W10 Brad Claus 1W10 monday, sept. 6, 2004 Geraldine Smith 2W30 Mary DeBoer 2W28 Bill Mickle 1WIT27 1WIT25 1WIT23 1WIT23 1WIT19 1W15 1W12 1W12 Marshall Dearing Fran Mickle Marg Deichert Bob Thompson Russell Snider Har Brintnell Veron Snider 2W25 1WIT24 1W16 1W16 1W16 1T13 IT13 tuesday, sept. 7, 2004 Bob Russell 2W22 Jerry DeBoer 2W16 Bill Mickle 1W15 Marion Dearing 1W11 Geraldine Smith 1W11 Jim Chapman 1W10 Mary DeBoer 1W10 Ken Sage 1W10 Pauline Simmons 1W10 thursday, sept.9, 2004 Russell Snider 2W22 Wilmer Adkins 1W14 Fran Mickle 1W14 Bill Mickle Marlene Parker Har Brintnell Brad Claus Frank Regier Lawrence Russell Jerry DeBoer Ann Klungel 1W14 1W14 1W13 1W13 1W13 1W13 1W10 1W10 saturday, sept. 11, 2004 Marshall Dearing 2W25 Bob Russell 2W25 Lawrence Russell 1W13 Ken Sage 1W13 Har Brintnell 1W12 Harry Winter 1W12 Marion Dearing 1W11 Jerry DeBoer 1W11 John Cooper 1W10 Isobelle Rescorl 1W10
