Crediton juniors display great talent with back-to-back wins
CREDITON - The Cred-
iton junior girls
fastball team dis-
played some very
talented skills last
week winning two
games, defeating
Ilderton Inter-
mediates 9-5 and
Byron Blaze 9-8.
A five -run fourth
inning seemed to
seal the second
win of the week
for the Crediton Kately
junior fastball squad. A
slow two inning start
which found the local
squad behind by a score of
4-0 was left in the dust
from the third inning to
the end of the game.
Katelyn Squire went four
for four at the plate along
with aggressive defensive
play in the catching and
short stop positions.
Kerri Fulton pounded
out a triple in
the fourth inning
to clear the
bases and added
a single hit.
Amber Pres-
zcator hit a long
ball to right field
for a double and
also added a sin-
gle hit. Two sin-
gle hits apiece
came from the
n Squire bats of Megan
Preszcator, Carrie Dixon
and Allyson Squire. Single
hits came from Janelle
Dykstra, Nikki Cyr, Kelli
Fulton, Margaret Geurts,
Annette Grotentraast and
Carie Pertschy.
Dixon was amazing on
the mound notching four
strikeouts and still throw-
ing precisely after six
innings.
Crediton 9 vs Byron
Blaze 8
Crediton allowed
three runs in the
first inning but
came out flying in
the second inning
scoring five runs.
In the third inning
Byron again took
the lead scoring
five runs.
After the third
inning, the local
squad was unstop-
pable not only offensively
but defensively executing
amazing plays and catch-
es. For the remainder of
the game, Byron was only
allowed three batters per
inning.
The whole Crediton
team played superbly but
Kelli Fulton played an out-
standing game at third
base scooping up
grounders and catching
line drives.
Jessica Davies
and Carie
Pertschy were
synchronized
again with dou-
ble plays.
Amber
Preszcator led
her team at the
plate notching
four singles.
Two of these
singles were
well-placed bunts. Kerri
Fulton and Jessica Bray
were also strong at bat
with a double and single
apiece. Carrie Dixon and
Janelle Dykstra added
two single hits apiece with
Dykstra performing a sac-
rifice bunt.

Jessica Davies, Kelli
Fulton and Katelyn Squire
