Rev. Carter spoke on remembrance of D -Day and a
moment of silence. Rev. Carter led in the Call to Worship
and the Opening Prayer in unison. Carolyn Johns, super-
intendent of the Sunday School, then took over and
everyone sang Jesus Loves Me. The Sunday School
members put on a skit entitled Is Your Face In Style.
Steve Morgan lit the Christ Candle.
The Sunday School promotion then took place with
Johns handing out the seals. Quinn and Aimee Rush
received their 3rd seal; Raymond McKnight and Scott
Pavkeje their 4th year seal; Zachary Kadey 6th year;
Ashley McKnight and Nicole Pavkeje 8th year; Richard
Johns and Robin McKnight 9th year; Corey Smith, Brett
Warwick, and Megan Pavkeje 10th year; Evelyn Johns

A skit entitled Build Your House On A Firm Foundation
was performed by Sunday School members. Everyone
sang Give Me Oil For My Lamp and the Sunday School
members presented another skit, Last Is First and First
Is Last.
Megan Pavkeje and Brett Warwick received the offer-
ing and Helen Weston brought items forward for the
Food Bank and everyone read the offering prayer in uni-

days. Everyone went downstairs where hotdogs and
potluck food, dessert and beverages were partaken of
which brought a nice service to a close. The Sunday

cooking with memories

How MANY TIMES DO WE OVERCOOK THE NUMBER OF
HAMBURGERS WE NEED AND THEN FEEL LIKE WE HAVE
WASTED GOOD MEAT! WELL I HAVE FOUND A GREAT
SOLUTION FOR BBQ BURGERS. THE RECIPE COMES FROM
MY SISTER-IN-LAW WHO SERVED THIS TO US ONE
TIME AND WE ALL LIKED IT AND DECIDED TO USE THE
RECIPE AT HOME! REREEZE THEM WRAPPED CAREFULLY
AND WHEN YOU HAVE ENOUGH FOR A MEAL WITH YOUR
FAMILY DO THE FOLLOWING!
BBQ HAMBURGERS
AGAIN!
Take BBQ hamburgers and place in a slow cooker with
onion slices, carrot chunks and a couple celery ribs
cut in large pieces. Cover with tomato soup from the
can. Spice up with black ground pepper Turn on low
and let simmer all day for a great meal of salisbury
steak! Serve with a baked potato or rice and salad
and the meal is complete.
(You can use frozen patties, uncooked but I cook them
on high all day then, or you can use cooked, unfrozen
burgers and just adjust the cooking to a few less
hours.)
Adapt the recipe however you would like if you are
adventurous. Try using canned tomatoes, or cream of
celery soup with milk. Make use of fresh herbs
and try to make some mexican blend and use part
salsa. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!
school teachers are Kristy Bray, Jessica Bray, Helen
Kadey, Kim Rush, nancy Smith, Virginia Warwick, and
Sharon Pavkeje.
