Kenpal Farm Products Ltd. hosted its 3rd annual
Customer Appreciation Day and Trade Show Aug. 17.
Customers were treated to a ride across the grounds in
a horse drawn wagon pulled by Ashley and Becky and
driven by Cassandra McLaughlin.The outfit was provid-
ed by owner Ewart McLaughlin. Customers were also
able to enjoy a meal and mingle with representatives of
the beef, dairy and pork industries and agricultural busi-
nesses. Huron Bruce MP Paul Steckle and Huron -Bruce
MPP Carol Mitchell also made an appearance.

Total Receipts
2,036 head of cattle, 758
lambs and goats.
Summary
Tuesday: The fed steers and
heifers traded at prices $1 to $
2 lower. Fancy and double
muscle steers and heifers sold
75 to 80 with sales to 91.25.
Choice steers and heifers sold
67 to 72, and 2nd cut steers
and heifers sold 62 to 65. The
good cows traded $2 to $4
higher with the balance selling
on a steady market.
Thursday: The veal traded
on a strong active trade while
the lambs sold under pressure
on a lower demand.
Friday: The calves traded
under pressure while the year-
lings sold $2 lower.
Steers
There were 588 steers on
offer.
Enoch Martin, Linwood con-
signed one black steer weigh-
ing 1345 lbs which sold for
91.25. His overall offering of
eighteen steers averaged 1424
lbs selling for an average price
of 79.94.
Heifers
There were 150 heifers on
offer.
Neil Rapien, Monkton con-
signed one blonde heifer
weighing 1330 lbs which sold
for 78.25.
Six heifers consigned by Brad
Hern, Woodham averaged
1379 lbs selling for an average
price of 66.86 with his top
three limo heifers averaging
1342 lbs selling to Holly Park
Meat Packers for 74.
Cows
There were 124 cows on
offer.
D1 & D2: 25-32 sales to 36;
D3: 18-22; D4: 10-15; Shell
Cows: 5-10.
Dwayne Dickert, Ayton con-
signed one blonde cow weigh-
ing 1605 lbs which sold to
Levinoff Meat Packers for 36.
One white cow consigned by
Allan Horsburgh, Mount Forest
weighed 1400 lbs selling for 35.
His overall offering of five beef
cows averaged 1386 lbs selling
for an average price of 29.45.
Bulls
There were 9 bulls on offer
selling 20-32 sales to 34.50.
One limo bull consigned by
Murray Rennick, Monkton
weighed 1995 lbs selling to
Dominion Meat Packers for
34.50.
Allan Beitz, Tiverton con-
signed one limo bull weighing
1990 lbs which sold to Levinoff
Meat Products for 32.
Veal
There were 157 head of veal
on offer.
Beef 100-110 sales to

Denfield Livestock Sales
Market Report
For Tues., Aug. 17 the Market at Denfield traded on a
selective demand at prices $2 to $3 lower on the good fed
cattle with fancy cattle trading steady. 100 cows on offer
traded actively with the good cows in strong demand. Sows
and boars traded steady.
Bob Hodgins, Lucan sold 13 steers avg. wt. 1413 avg.
price 78 with sales to 86.25 purchased by Norwich Packers
and 86 purchased by Norval Meats.
Bill and Mary Margaret McDonald, Thamesville sold 7
head avg. wt. 1266, avg. price 73.84 sales to 79.25 pur-
chased by Norwich Packers.
Choice steers: 78-85 sales to 86.25; Good steers: 68-75;
Heavy and plain steers: 60-65; Choice exotic cross

POLICE BRIEFS
EXETER — On Aug. 8
at 11 a.m. representa-
tives of the Exeter Fair
contacted OPP over a
theft. The officer learned
sometime through the
night someone entered
the fairgrounds on
Victoria Street in Exeter
and walked away with a
tarp, which belonged to
the Scotia Bank.
The maroon tarp was
10' x 10' and had Scotia
Bank written on it with
white letters.
If you have seen this
tarp or know where offi-
cers can locate it, call
the local OPP office or
Crime Stoppers.
