Rain washes out Queensway fishing plans
HENSALL—The high-
light of the week for
Queensway residents was
an energetic production of
Peggy the Pint-sized Pirate
presented by the Grand
Bend Youth Centre. The
group is to be commended
for their fantastic cos-
tumes, props and dia-
logue. The cast visited
with residents over
refreshments following the
show.
Pastor Elly Van Bergen
led worship Tuesday after-
noon with Belva Fuss as
volunteer pianist and
Marg Cole assisting resi-
dents. Residents benefit
from pastoral visitation
with Pastor Van. Bergen on
Tuesdays and look for-
ward to her time at
Queensway each week.
Everyone had their fin-
gers crossed Wednesday
hoping for good weather
for the wiener roast and
fishing trip; but, it was not
to be. The skies opened
with torrents of rain 15
minutes before departure
and left no doubt that the
fishing trip would be can-
celled. The trip will be
rescheduled.
Coffee and Current
Events started the day
Thursday with residents
gathered to hear their
horoscope and discuss
various issues in the news.
There continues to be a
lively interest in local
news, events and the pos-
sibility of Ilensall opting
out of amalgamation. In
the evening Senior Diners
gathered to socialize over
a delicious fish dinner.
Thanks to volunteer Bob
Lebeau who presided over
the barbecue Friday at
noon. Some residents visit-
ed with Lebeau while he
flipped burgers and rotat-
ed hotdogs until they were
cooked just right.
Throughout the week, res-
idents also enjoyed exer-
cises, manicures, walks
outdoors, reading, Pet
Therapy, and art group.

From the "Help to make the right food choice"
department: Six buffalo chicken wings contain
50 grams of fat 113 grams are saturated fats).
They also contain 2200 mg of sodium. These
wings come from the fatty part of the chicken and mostly always
have skin on.
If you are having problems sleeping well, try exercising regularly
every morning. It seems that when you exercise is important. If you
can't do it in the morning, make sure your exercising is finished at
least three hours before bedtime, otherwise if could make sleeping
more difficult.
Here's a simple exercise to stimulate circulation in your legs during a
long plane flight: bend your toes upwards and hold for a count of
ten then point them down and repeat about fen times every 30
minutes.
Avoid tea and coffee at the same time you fake an iron supplement.
Coffee and tea contain polyphenols which can greatly reduce the
amount of iron you absorb from the tablet. Vitamin C is an iron
absorption enhancer so taking your iron supplement with orange
juice will result in greater absorption.
