By Pat Bolen

LUCAN — Lucan area
gardeners showed off
their work July 30 to
raise funds for the Lucan
Area Heritage and
Donnelly Museum.
Organized by staff at the
Bank of Montreal in
Lucan, the tour featured
12 gardens in and around
Lucan.
The amount raised for
the museum has not been
finalized but Anne
Langendyk from BMO
said around 50 tickets
were sold and felt for the
first year in Lucan it was
good.
Homes on the tour
included Evelyn Harrigan,
Susan and Philip Baldwin,
Fred and Brenda Smith,
Jeannette and Keith
Simpson, Greg and
Kathryn Langendyk,
Barry and Dianne Gollan,
Karen and Wayne
Hodgins, Anne and Bert
Langendyk, Jean and Pat
Hodgins, Barb and Harry
Wraith, Brian and Liz
Froats and Bryan and
Beth Smith.
All profits from the tour
will be going to the muse-
um according to
Langendyk.
She added the response
to the tour was amazing
after signs were put out
asking which gardens
people would like to see.
"We had 12 gardens
and without a problem
we could likely have
added more. People have
already told me if you do
it next year I'll be ready."
A decision hasn't been
made whether the tour
will be repeated next year
but Langendyk said she
hopes it is the first of sev-
eral to follow.
Langendyk thanked all
those who took part in the
tour including the gar-
deners, members of the
Lucan Area Heritage and
Donnelly Museum, busi-
nesses who sold tickets
and Hellen Bulanda,
Karen Van Praet, Arlene
Thomson and Monica
Arevian at BMO Lucan.
