Going into the weekend action the Braves sat one and half games back of the Walton Brewers for first in the Huron County Fastball League. The lead changed hands again with the Braves tak- ing a 3-2 lead. The Rangers again rallied to tie the game at 3-3 but the Braves pushed across the winning run in the sev- enth inning. Exeter received offence from the bats of Jim Lewis who knocked in the first run and Annis helping his own cause by driving in a pair. Driving in the winning run was Larry Lewis. Senior Games banquet held in Exeter EXETER — A record number of seniors entered the 19 events offered at the tri -county senior game events. Over 500 participants competed in at least one game and many played in two or more. Each year a point sys- tem is kept. Every partic- ipant gets one point for registering in the first event and a half point for each additional event. Extra points are given for wins — a first place finish earns 10 points, second place earns five and third place earns three. All points are tallied at the end of the games for each community. Trophies and plaques are given to the commu- nities who win the most. The awards banquet in June was held in Exeter at the South Huron Rec Centre, with 200 people attending. Awards were presented after dinner by liaison officer Barry Faye and co-ordinator Pictured are members of the Exeter Senior Games team.A Senior Games ban- quet was held at South Huron Rec Centre in June. In division `B', Strathroy was first, Mount Brydges second and Sebringville third. In August, 43 District 29 winners will travel to St. Catharines to com- pete in the provincials. While you would think after a busy summer that seniors would want to settle down and rest, they are anxiously await- ing the fall programs to start in each community. Extra programs will be offered this fall as Barrie is hosting the Winter Games in February for seniors. Activities include hockey, skating, curling and downhill and cross-country skiing. Anyone interested in taking part in the Winter Games or fall programs can contact their local recreation director. — submitted article THE MOMENT PROPER MAINTENANCE MATTERS. r MAINTENANCE SERVICE PACKAGE • Lube, oil & filter • 15 Point Inspection including coolant, tires, wipers, hoses & belts • Tire rotation • Visual brake inspection • Top up fluids • Set tire pressure • Electronic battery test Th $4995t BRAKE MAINTENANCE SERVICE • Clean debris & corrosion, lubricate caliper sliders/pins & backing plates, and adjust parking brake cable (rear only) • Road test $5 Front or rear disc brake 95t Plus tax FRONT BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT • Installation of new front pads or linings with Passenger cars GM -approved DuraStop® parts • Brake fluid 9 top -up • Limited lifetime warranty on pads Plus tax • Machining of rotors extra • Road test From 5t Light duty trucks $139P95t From r SHOCK & STRUT REBATE l OFFER ENDS JULY 31 • One shock absorber working at 50% of its capacity can increase your stopping distance by 7 metres*.
