People from the following churches Caven Presbyterian Church, Thames Road-Elimville United Church, Carmel Presbyterian Church and Exeter United Church attended. Rev. Lillian Wilton welcomed every- one and gave the announcements. Tracy Whitson-Bahro led in the call to worship. Everyone sang Fairest Lord Jesus. Psalm 100 was read responsively with Rev. Marilyn Carter leading. Rev. Carter told the children's story enti- tled, 'The Surprise'. Rev. Wilton read the Scripture, Matthew 13:1-9 and Luke 9:57-62 and gave the Reflection. Rev. Paul Ross gave the Congregational Prayers. The offering was received and Nancy Corrigan gave the Prayer of Dedication. Everyone sang Rejoice The Lord is King. The commis- sioning and benediction were repeated by all the ministers and the congre- gation. The Community Band accompanied the hymns and also played before and after the THAMES ROAD NEWS service. Community Activities July 1, Canada Day: Breakfast at the Ag Building 8-11 a.m. with entertainment all day for all ages. Beef BBQ at the SHRC 5-7 p.m. (400 only). Fireworks at dusk over the ball diamonds. See the local paper for details. Kirkton Union Cemetery Decoration Service will be held at the cemetery on July 4, 7:30 p.m. Please bring your lawn chair. Exeter Agriculture Society Pond and Back Yard Tour July 16, 17 in conjunction with Sidewalk Sale Days. Bill and Rhoda Rohde attended the Switzer reunion held at Kirkton- Woodham Community Centre on Sunday. POLICE BRIEFS Window smashed EXETER — On June 21 at 11 a.m. OPP were called to a residence on William Street in Exeter over property damage. Sometime during the evening or through the night a person smashed the glass section out of a garage door.
