Canada Day events at Queensway Nursing Home
HENSALL - Residents, volunteers, family and
friends turned out for Queensway's strawberry
social fundraiser for Heart and Stroke Sun., June
27. Everyone was pleased to have Paul Steckle
incumbent Liberal MP an Barb Fisher,
Conservative Candidate visit.
Queensway was also the site of the Trillium
meeting and luncheon Thursday. Diane
Gammage, program supervisor for Community
and Social Services and Pat Shanahan of the
Ontario Long -Term Care Association joined the
group to hear about the progress made in the
partnership between Community Living and Long -
Term Care and also offer their comments.
Senior Diners met Thursday evening and every-
one stayed for the June birthday party with music
by Gladys Van Egmond and the Merrymakers.
Birthday greetings go to Laurabelle Reichert,
Dean Gibson, Doug Wedlake, Norma Coleman,
Anna Koopmans, Gertie Poulin, Helen Taylor,
Lillian Restemayer and Barb Bell.
Pastor Fred Darke of the Hensall United Church
led worship Tuesday afternoon for residents with
Belva Fuss as volunteer organist.
Friday morning resident council met and dis-
cussed issues important to them, They were
informed that they will be able to vote from 3
p.m. to 6 p.m. at the mobile polling booth set up
in the activation room. There have been many
discussions at both Fun and Fitness and Coffee
and Current Events regarding the various parties
and especially the fact that several fringe parties
are running candidates in Huron -Bruce.

July 1 Canada Day: Games and music with Lisa
Stewart, music therapist. July 6: 9 a.m. Volunteer
auxiliary meeting.
