Ruth Ann Haist received her 100th donation pin from Canadian Blood ser- vices June 8 in Exeter. Haist started donating after her daughter Karen was born premature and weighed just two pounds, four ounces. After coming home from the hospital, Karen's blood count started to drop and required a donation. "That just made us think that the blood had to be there for her so that was what got us going," said Haist. Ruth Ann Haist of Dashwood, who made her 1 OOth blood donation June 8 with with George Finch, who is at 103 donations and charge nurse Glenyce Gilliam. Haist received a 100th donation pin and will be receiving a certificate at a later date. (photo/sub- mitted) Local groups to benefit from show EXETER — The Exeter Centennial Soccer Club and Huron County for Children of Chernobyl have both partnered with the Claude Haggerty Show to raise money for their groups. "We are looking forward to selling out the arena," Haggerty said, adding ticket sales are going well. "Our show has grown since our last visit to Exeter," Haggerty said. "On July 24 we will ship about 10 tonnes of equip- ment to the arena to stage the show." Haggerty will also be making a brief appear- ance with one of his big cats at Hansen's Your Independent Grocer, who is sponsoring the event, July 15 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be pur- chased for $13 by contact- ing Karen Brand of the Centennial Soccer Club or Dianne Waun of Children of Chernobyl.
