The commemorative woods is located on land donated by the Klopp family, which is maintained by the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority and financially assisted by the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation. (photo/Mary Simmons) Blood donors recognized Damage to pop machines SOUTII HURON — On June 4 at 8:45 a.m. OPP were called to the Grand Bend Motor-Plex on Grand Bend Line over vandalism. The officer discovered eight pop machines located on the Motor-Plex property was attacked and pried open sometime through the night causing $8,000 worth of damage. Another $500 worth of coins were stolen from the machines. The New Democratic Party was the big winner at McGillivray Central School last week during a student mock election. Students from Grades 5-8 participated in StudentVote 2004, a Canada -wide activity designed to help make students aware of the democratic process. Election results from McGillivray were: NDP, 36 votes; Conservative Party, 28 votes; Liberal Party, 10 votes; and others, two votes. Teacher Drew Robertson said students have been taking lessons on the workings of governments, freedoms, rights and responsibilities.Also, students were asked to watch the leaders' debate last week. (photo/submitted) LONDON — Exeter's George Finch was among 150 donors present at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in London June 3, a yearly event to honour long time blood donors. The blood donations recognized are those donations of 50 and up and include where donors are eligible to donate weekly for plasma and others such as Finch who donate whole blood every 56 days. Each donation counts as one, One gentleman who was recognized for donating 704 times because of his weekly contributions. Finch is at 103. There were also two bone marrow donors pre- sent who have actually been called upon to donate bone marrow. The Zurich YBC wrapped up its season with its awards banquet at the Exeter Legion June 12. Miranda Stoneman took home the trophy as senior bowler of the year, while the junior winner was Matthew Regier and Justine Anderson was the Bantam winner.Taking the trophy for the points champion was Tiffany Legault.
