IT BECOMES A FUN THING TO HAVE A NEW TWIST TO THE GREEN SALAD AT ANY OCCASION. I HAVE FOUND IT GREAT TO ADD TO THIS RECIPE AS MY PANTRY ALLOWS. TRY EXPERIMENTING AND MIXING FLAVORS AND ENJOY THE FOLLOWING RECIPE. ATOSSED SALAD WITH ATWIST! mixed greens or romaine carrots julienned and peeled red onion rings THE 1/2 cucumber chopped phet 1/2 to 1 cup feta cheese crumbled 1/4 to I /2 cup dried cranberries 1/2 cup slivered almonds Dressing: 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 1/4 cup olive oil 2 tbsp water 2 to 3 tbsp fresh parsley 1 tsp dried basil or fresh basil Mix dressing ingredients and pour over salad just before serving. Some suggestions I've tried: using thyme not basil, putting in fresh strawberries, pecans or pine nuts for almonds, leaving out water for a bit more bite to the dressing, green onions etc. The possibilities are unending. Go for it and enjoy! } Capsule Comments by Ernie Miatello If you are caring for a person who has trouble taking their medications due to swallowing problems, try mixing the medication with a tablespoonful of prepared baby fruit or vegetables. It can help the medicine go down. One of the greatest myths of old age is that it's too late to start healthy habits; that the damage has been done. It's not too late. The elderly can benefit as much from good nutrition, regular exercise and other good health habits just as much as younger people. Your doctor can advise you how to get started. Some everyday products you find in pharmacies have been around a long time. For example, Vick's Vaporub first appeared on the shelves in 1905. It was called Vick's Magic Croup Salve at that time. Migraine headaches can be very disabling. They don't kill you but the pain is so intense you may wish you were dead. There are many new drugs on the market for treating migraines. The class of "tryptans" are the best bet right now and if one drug in this class doesn't work another one might. Huron Apothecary Ltd.
