Residents prepare to vote
HENSALL - Laurabelle
Reichert's 85th birthday
open house drew a crowd
of well-wishers through-
out the afternoon Sun.,
June 13. Reichert taught
school in Huron County
for many years so her vis-
itors included former co-
workers, students, neigh-
bours and family.
Residents enjoyed their
first ice cream parlour of
the season on a sunny
Monday afternoon follow-
ing the Walkin' and
Wheelin' program. They
benefitted from a walk or
wheelchair ride outdoors
with staff and then every-
one was served ice cream
in the shade by the foun-
tain.
Tuesday morning eight
residents attended the
Breakfast Group program
and feasted on bacon,
eggs, toast and fruit
served family style with
eggs made to order. Lots
of congenial conversation
takes place at the pro-
gram as everyone lingers
over coffee and tea in the
more intimate family din-
ing area.
Pastor Les Hills led wor-
ship Tuesday afternoon
with Belva Fuss as volun-
teer pianist.
Marg Cole organized
several tables of euchre
players Wednesday after-
noon. The friendly com-
petition makes an after-
noon pass very quickly for
the euchre enthusiasts.
Coffee and Current
Events started the day for
residents on Thursday
morning as the daily and
weekly papers were
perused. Residents are
looking forward to the
mobile polling booth that
will visit Queensway June
28.
Friday afternoon musi-
cian Bill Durst gave a
wonderful and energetic
performance for residents
and visitors. His variety of
old-tyme and contempo-
rary tunes had audience
toes tapping.

Exeter Public woodworking day
Exeter Public student Lindsay Mills gets some help from Harry Brooks June I I during a
day of woodworking at the school that gave students a chance to use scroll saws,
buffers, heating units to bend plastic and drills to create various projects. The equip-
ment was supplied by Brooks, a retired industrial arts teacher. It is the first year the day
has been run but Brooks said the students enjoyed the chance for the hands on experi-
ence and is hoping to build on the experience for future classes. (photo/PatBolen)

Rustic Two -Bedroom Plan H1-2-579 Natural stone accents and paned windows give this tidy rancher an appealing rustic look. Inside, the
two-bedroom floor plan is ideal for a retired couple or a small family. Nine -foot high ceilings and an open area design enhance the feeling of
spaciousness. Factor in an unfinished basement, and this home might also suit a growing family. Entry is through an open courtyard which
could easily be gated to enclose a small garden filled with potted plants. The single front door is rimmed by windows to bring natural light
into the foyer. A staircase to the left of the foyer leads to the basement. Behind the stairwell, a laundry room accesses the two -car garage
with its built-in work bench. The hub of this home is its spacious great room, with views out to the rear sundeck. A corner fireplace warms
the room in winter. A door to the sundeck expands the living space is summer. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with an angled work
island, a green house window and a pantry cupboard. An optional buffet can be added to the dining area, increasing storage for dishes and
glassware. The bedrooms are well separated, with the master suite located at the back of the house for quiet and privacy. A three-piece
ensuite, a bayed window and a door to the rear sundeck highlight the master suite. Another three-piece bathroom is situated just outside the
second bedroom. The home measures 40 feet wide by 51 feet, 6 inches deep and has 1,294 square feet of finished living space. The design
includes an unfinished basement. Plans for design H1-2-579 are available for $436 (set of 5), $502 (set of 8) and $544 for a super set of 10.
