The Zurich Women's Institute celebrated its 90th anniversary May 20 with mem-
bers from chapters around the area gathering in Zurich to mark the occasion.

Queensway plans hearing -aid clinic
HENSALL - Queensway's corner at the
Hensall Community Yard Sale on Sat.,
May 29 was a great success. Residents
has a wonderful time selling items from
the yard sale tables. The barbecued
hamburgers and hotdogs sold non-stop
while supplies lasted.
A big thank -you to family, friends, resi-
dents and staff who helped throughout
the day with this wonderful fundraiser
for resident council. Winners of the draw
prizes were Eleanor Mansfield: fan;
Brenda Roth: cooler; and Gloria Taylor:
kitchen caddy.
Lorne McKenzie, singer and pianist
from Wingham gave a wonderful perfor-
mance for residents and guests on May
27 at the May birthday party. The variety
and quality of his music is always appre-
ciated. Residents celebrating birthdays
were Julene Keys, Aleida Kats, Les
Mitchell, Jean O'Brien, Ida Dickert and
Otilla Reichert.
Queensway's volunteer auxiliary met at
Millington in Brucefield on June 1 and
following their 11 a.m. meeting enjoyed a
delicious appreciation lunch. Due to the
large number of volunteers who share
their time and talents at Queensway, var-
ious methods of appreciation happen
throughout the year.
Pastor Tracy Whitson Bahro of Hensall
Presbyterian Church led worship on
Tuesday with Belva Fuss as volunteer
pianist. Marg Cole and Elly Van Bergen
assisted residents.
Andy Rau and Friends entertained
Friday evening in the retirement home
lounge before an appreciative audience.
Andy and Friends provide music at
Queensway the first Friday evening of
each month and have a loyal following
among the residents.
Coming events: June 11 at 2 p.m.
Musical Variety Show with Bill Durst;
June 14 at 2 p.m. Hearing -aid Clinic,
everyone welcome; June 16 at 6:30 p.m.

EXETER- Throughout the month of
May, keyboard musicians were Jean
Hodgert, Wilma Davis, June Dougherty
and Josie Ryckman. Draw prizes were
won by Mary Cox, Marie Wilds, Clare
O'Rourke, Else Faulder and Helen
Broderick. The 50/50 draws were won by
Marion Dearing and Marie Wilds. A card
was sent to Jean Estey and Ilene Rollings.
Birthdays were celebrated by Martin
Andrews, Maxine Sereda and Charles
Rollings for the month of April. Harry
Klungel and Mary Cox celebrated in May.
Foot -care appointments can be made
by contacting 235-0258. The next
appointment dates will be June 15, July
5, and July 20.

ATWOOD- 'Can a New Life Spring from
Missions?' was the theme of the spring
rally of Huron -Perth Presbyterial of the
Women's Missionary Society. The vice-
president, Bernice Richards, presided for
the day's activities. The women were
welcomed by Rev. John Hogerwaard,
minister of Atwood Presbyterian Church,
and Jeannie Ballantyne, Atwood WMS.
Reports of the South -Western Ontario
Synodical held in Niagara Falls were
given by Ina McMillan, Ruth Laing, and
Eunice Bisset. The morning speaker was
Eric tieweson, Listowel.
In the absence of Elizabeth Stewart,
Marion Smith, Monkton gave the treasur-
er's report. Money for the schools in
Jobat, India is to be sent to the
Presbyterial treasurer, to be forwarded
to the Synodical Treasurer. Jean
Sangster, Bayfield reported on the
Pennies for Patrick project. Patrick says
that the only hope for Malawi is through
the churches.
The Area Educational Consultant, Rev.
Mother's Day. Alma Langford read a
poem called `Greetings'. On May 11,
Dinette Stephens from the hospital spoke
about heart and stroke. D.J. Eggert, an
art therapist, spoke on May 18. On May
25 Evelyn Smith, from Shoreline
Healthco. Inc. showed equipment that
could help seniors around the house.
Upcoming entertainment for the month
of June will be Margaret Detlor (a dental
hygienist), Romyn family, a penny sale,
and Jim Bearss. Transportation can be
arranged if needed.

Two lovely congratulation cards were
received from the Honourable Paul
Steckle and Karen Lehnan on the 15th
anniversary of the program.
byterial spring rally
Anne Yee -Hibbs, gave the Scripture and
meditation on the meeting theme and
spoke of the studies available following
the Bhil Study. Jan Maclnnes gave the
grace before lunch.
The afternoon program began with
duets, We've Got This Moment, and In
The Garden, by Joyce Schalk and Kate
Tormey, accompanied by Mary
Chapman. Barbara Tubb, Doris Webb
and Janet Gibson, St. Marys, gave the
afternoon devotions.
Jean Edmunds, Mitchell introduced the
afternoon speaker, Rev. Joe Reed, a mis-
sionary in Central America. He told of the
nutrition problems, the life of the people
living in city dumps, and people working
in the sweatshops. A very interesting
question and answer period followed. He
was thanked by Mary Duffin, Stratford.
The offering was received and dedicat-
ed by Monkton WMS. Courtesy remarks
were given by Helen Dunseith,
Harrington WMS. The meeting closed
with prayer by Bernice Richards,
Stratford.
