By Scott Nixon
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
ZURICH — For stu-
dents thinking about a
career involving science
or technology, Zurich
Public School was the
place to be last week.
The school hosted a
science and technology
career fair June 3,
which included repre-
sentatives from nearly
20 careers, as well as
Grade 4-8 students from
Zurich Public, Hensall
Public and St. Boniface.
Zurich Public School
teacher Bob Redick said
the intention of the day
was to give students an
idea of what kinds of
education, skills and
training they will need
for their chosen career.
He said his school has
looked at the variety of
careers available to stu-
dents throughout the
year, as well as what
programs are offered by
colleges and universi-
ties.
Redick said by giving
elementary grade stu-
dents career informa-
tion now, it can help
them choose their high
school courses.
Redick was pleased
with how the day went
and said the school had
got great responses
from the professionals
they contacted. He
added the students
enjoyed themselves and
were interested.
This is the first year
Zurich Public School
has held the career fair
day. Redick said he
hoped students would
come out of the day
with knowledge on a
variety of careers.
Professionals at the
school included the

graphic artist, a veteri-
narian, an agronomist,
