(photo/Scott Nixon) Cab driver assaulted LUCAN BIDDULPH — A cab driver for a London Cab company was assaulted by a customer after taking a group of males to the Lucan area in the early morning of May 21. The driver picked up four males from a nightclub in London. The driver received his fare up front. Two of the males were dropped at an address in Lucan, the other two at the intersection of Coursey Line and Richmond Street, just North of Lucan. At approximately 2:15 am the two remaining passen- gers were dropped at the intersection and began call- ing the driver names. As one of the males exited the cab, he threw a glass bottle at the driver. The bottle struck the part -open passenger side window and shat- tered, then struck the driver on the side of his head. The driver suffered three cuts to the side of his head. An ambulance was called to assist the cab driver. Middlesex OPP continues the investigation. The Lucan man allegedly assaulted his common-law wife a week earli- er. The OPP was called during another argument and police uncovered the previous assault.
