The Crediton junior girls' fastball team formed by midget alumni Carie Pertschy and Jessica Davies began its season with a 6-3 loss against a strong interme- diate -age squad. Next game: May 31 at home vs St. Marys opponent six runs in the first two innings and then settled down to display some excellent fastball skills. Leading Crediton at the plate was Kerri Fulton with four singles. Jessica Davies pounded out a triple in the sixth inning and scored on a single by Katelyn Squire. Single hits came from the bats of Amber Preszcat- or, Nikki Cyr, Allyson Squire, Jessica Bray and Carie Pertschy. Crediton played a strong game defensively and offensively. Crediton only allowed itself two strikeouts throughout the seven innings aggressive fielding cer- tainly enthused the local fans. Bray started on the pitcher's rubber for Crediton with very strong relief from Carrie Dixon. The majority of these junior players original- ly formed the midget -age team in Crediton and after four years and four ORSA provincial cham- pionships, the girls found themselves too old to play in the Huron - Perth league. Crediton's home night is Tuesday night at 9 p.m. in Crediton. Come out and join the team if you are interested in watching some very talented ath- letes playing a sport they love and certainly excel at. POLICE BRIEFS Laptop computer stolen EXETER - May 19 at 12:45 p.m. OPP were contacted by a school official at Exeter Public School over a theft. The officer found that sometime in the last day a person entered a classroom inside the school and walked away with a $3,200 computer and software. Stolen was a black Toshiba alp top computer with installed software. Utility trailers stolen BLUEWATER — On May 16 at 1:30 p.m. a theft was reported from a resi- dence on West Shore Drive in Bluewater. Sometime in the last week a person entered the property and stole two utility trailers. A 1999 Versa Sport tilt 4'x8' utility trailer with aluminum sides and wooden floor a small red metal garden trailer was taken. The thefts are valued at more than $1,000.
