ZURICH NEWS Water price • increases causes concern Dear Editor: Referring to the story on the front page of the Exeter Times -Advocate, May 12, 2004, re. price of water "seri- ous increase". It appears to me, some of our leaders are exempt from price increases. One of our council suggested an extra 50 percent increase to the already horrendous $20 increase. Back when we had the water meters installed, I was told they would pay for themselves. I'm not sure whether the elected official who told me this spoke a different language so I could not understand his line of B.S. Today, I believe we are about $1/4 million from paying for the meters alone. People who are on fixed incomes are going to have trouble finding the extra funds. KEN KELLER, Exeter ON The Huron United Way recently helped out the South Huron Big Brothers/Big Sisters with a $5,000 donation. From left are Big Brothers board member Drew Robertson, Huron United Way director Anita Riddell and Huron United Way allo- cation chairperson Jane Pryde. Big Brothers will receive another $5,000 from the United Way later this year.
