Rebekahs camp -out in ZurichAug. 20-22
EXETER -The charter was undraped
at the last meeting. June 2 will
be the birthday party. The inau-
gural meeting for the new DDP
Laurel Kowatsch will be held in
Stratford hall on May 17 at 2 p.m.
All PNGs may attend. The annual
camp -out will be held at the
Zurich fairgrounds Aug. 20-22.

annual sessions held the first
week of May in London.

General UCW meeting June 8

from the Granton commu-
nity is extended to the
family of the late Garfield
Nixon who died on Mon.,
May 3 at St. Marys
Memorial Hospital. The
funeral was held at the C.
Haskett and Son Funeral
Home, Lucan on Wed.,
May 5. Interment in
Granton Cemetery. Lay
Pastor Val Hodgins offici-
ated.
Six members of
Clandeboye Women's
Institute attended the
100th anniversary cele-
bration of South Lobo WI
at the Coldstream
Community Centre on
Tues. afternoon, May 4.
Several from Granton
enjoyed the annual spring
smorgasbord dinner at
noon at the Exeter United
church on Thurs., May 6.
Some Granton area
members attended the
Kirkton Horticultural
Take Heart
Huron fund
Take Heart Huron has
money available for heart
healthy projects. The goal
is to encourage people in
our communities to partic-
ipate in activities that
reduce the chance of
developing heart disease.
A maximum of $750 is
available for projects or
programs aimed at the
following: • eating
healthy; • being physically
active; • being smoke-free.

Deadline for applications
is May 21.
Society's spring meeting
on Tuesday evening, May
4 at the Community
Centre.
Granton -Wesley UCW
Unit One met at the home
of Pennie McRobert in
Lucan on Thursday at
noon on
May 6 for a
luncheon
served by Val Hodgins,
Amelia Jameson and host-
ess. President Doreen
McRobert opened the
meeting with a reading `I
deserve a break today.'
Plans were made for the
next meeting at Cathie
Westman's on June 3.
The General UCW meet-
ing is on June 8 when Unit
One will be in charge of
the program. Muffin
morning for June 6 was
also discussed. McRobert
continued the progra
reading 'What makes a
Mother's Day.'
Madeline Hardie had a
word game, the answers
being the connection
between two clue words.
Sounds like a regular
brain teaser. The meeting
was adjourned.
At the Granton -Wesley
United Church on
Christian Family Sunday
May 9, Jacob Humphrey
lit the Christ
candle. The
ministry of
music was God Who made
the World.
Welcomed into the fami-
ly of faith in the sacrament
of holy baptism were
Megan Lee Fox, daughter
of Bob Fox and Vicki Van
Sas; and William Rhys
Blakeney, son of Steve and
Jill Blakeney. Sister
Meredith Blakeney assist-
ed in preparing the water.
Flowers from the funeral
of Garfield Nixon were
placed in the sanctuary.
At St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Kirkton on Sim.,
May 9, (Easter 5) Rev.
Dalice Sim celebrated the
holy eucharist. Mary
Blackler read the lessons.
