Hensall Spring Fair Board has 'Bean Counting'
submitted by the
Hensall Spring
Fair Board
HENSALL-Welcome to
the 136th annual Hensall
Spring Fair, June 18 and
19; admission is free. The
theme this year, 'Bean
Counting Birthdays', was
chosen from a competition
within the Hensall Public
School. The winning
poster was created by Sam
Penn, a Grade 2 student.
The fair this year has
been a collective effort by
all the service clubs in the
area as well as many com-
mitted volunteers. Each
organization has selected
a special event to sponsor
with all proceeds going to
a common goal.
The service clubs
involved are The Kinettes,
the Kinsmen, The
Optimists and the Hensall
Community Action
Development Committee.
The goal this year is to
provide a new P.A. system
for the use of the commu-
nity as a whole.
The Board is very proud
of this group effort and the
community of Hensall in
coming together to make
this fair one to remember.
Activities / events
• There is everything from
sheep, poultry and
pigeons, goats, swine show
and a few surprises in the

posted on the Community
Channel, Hensall news col-
umn and at the post office.

and is rather diversified.

Crime of the week
GRAND BEND — Unknown persons
attended a rural property located on the
Corbett Line behind the Grand Bend
Motorplex early in the morning on Good
Friday and set fire to a 52 foot long trail-
er that was located on the property. The
property owner had been working on the
trailer for the past year and eventually
was going to build a home on the proper-
ty. The trailer and contents were valued
at $25,000.
"But it was much more than dollars lost
in this fire," Sr. Const. Stephen Beasley,
police co-ordinator for Huron County
Crime Stoppers, said. "The memories the
couple had accumulated over the years
was also lost. They loved to spend time
puttering around the property. Help
these victims put this tragedy behind
them."
Anyone with information is asked to
call Crime Stoppers at 1 -800 -222 -TIPS.
You won't have to give your name or
attend court. You may even earn a
reward up to $1,000.
Vehicle recovered
LUCAN BIDDULPH — A stolen vehicle
from the City of London was recovered
early Friday morning, May 7. The vehi-
cle, a 2003 Oldsmobile, was abandoned
on Breen Drive near Mitchell Line. A citi-
zen found the damaged vehicle and con-
tacted the OPP.
